Basic Ingredients

This is an overview of the ingredients we use.

Do your research and know your skin.  What doesn’t bother others, might irritate your skin.  We offer custom batches to allow everyone to enjoy a relaxing aromatic bath. If any product causes irritation, discontinue use immediately.

Ingredients used in our Superbly Simple Signature Bath Bomb Formula: Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda), Citric Acid, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa), Polysorbate 80, Isopropyl Alcohol, Potassium Bitartrate (Cream of Tartar), Kaolin Clay, colorant and Fragrance oil.

Basic Ingredients:

Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) – Many different industries use backing soda. From cleaning products and food to hair care, skin care, bath and body products.  It gives the skin a silky and soft feeling. Soothes sunburnt, acne and bug bitten skin. It helps exfoliate the skin and when added with lemon juice, it can remove spray tans. It is also said to have other helpful benefits. More information can be found here*.

Citric Acid – This too is an ingredient that is used in many industries. In the bath it can help soften your water and help produce more foam. It is responsible for the fizzing. It is an antioxidant that can help with acne, unclog pores, shrink pores, improve fine lines, wrinkles and brighten the skin. Citric acid can also help remove dead skin cells to make way for new ones. More information can be found here*.

Polysorbate 80 is an emulsifier and helps to mix oils and water.  This benefits fragrance oils, carrier oils and the colorants. It blends them into your bath water, instead of leaving an oil slick on top of the water.

Isopropyl Alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol) is used as a binding agent.  It allows the other ingredients harden in our products. It is also used with dye, lake and mica colorant to bath and skin friendly paints. (Yes! We blend our own paints!)

Potassium Bitartrate (Cream of Tartar) is used for a few reasons.  It helps the products harden.  It also helps to slow down the fizz speed of the bath bombs.

Kaolin Clay is a fine-grained clay with mild absorption properties, which makes it great for your skin. It also helps the bath bombs hold their shapes and harden. It is also superb to soak in. Clay has drawing abilities, minerals and detoxification properties.

Bubble Powders

Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa) - Is an organic gentle surfactant. A foaming and cleansing agent. It helps to wet body surfaces, emulsify or solubilize oils.  It is often confused with the harsher Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS).  The two ingredient names look and sound very similar, but are very different. We do not use SLS in our products. SLSa is completely safe for most skin types, including sensitive skin. SLSa removes oils and bacteria without irritating the skin. More information can be found here*.

Buttermilk powder is made from the natural process of making butter. Its reported to have skin softening and moisturizing benefits with a creamy lather foam.

Goats Milk Powder helps to moisturize the skin. Water reconstitutes the milk powder, giving the bath water a lush and silky texture. This powder also contains linoleic acid and other essential fatty acids.  This can be very nourishing to the skin and help to even out skin tone.
